John Whitaker

John Jay “J.J.” Whitaker, 50, of Folkston, Georgia passed away at his residence February 19, 2013. He was born in San Diego County California. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife: Wendy C. Whitaker; 6-Children: Jake (Jessica) Whitaker, Jayla (Blake) Jackson, Jenna (Brian) Clark, John Whitaker, Jared Whitaker, and Kris J. Whitaker; his Mother: Donnell Henderson Whitaker; 5-Brothers: Scotty (Monese) Whitaker, Donnie Whitaker, Lonnie (Louise) Whitaker, Mark (Kristie) Whitaker, Sonny Whitaker; 2-Sisters: Sonya (Jerry) Permenter, Wanda Joy (Thomas) Meyer; 2-Grandchildren: Emalyn Whitaker and Paityn Jackson; mother and fater in law: Kay and Harvin Carter; a Sister-in-law: Ashley (Ryan) Mesa, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Boyce Neal Whitaker, Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 22 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23 at 11:00 AM at the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Boatwright and Jerry Permenter officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
