JOHN STEPHENS, SR.

John Robert “Don” Stephens, Sr., 68, of Kingsland, GA, passed away Friday March 13 in Jacksonville, FL.  He was born in Brantley County, GA to the late John Astor Stephens and Jessie Belle Melton Stephens.  He enjoyed working on old cars and trucks and operating heavy equipment.  He loved his grandkids and tagged each of them with a special nickname.  He retired after 32 years as Road Superintendant with the Charlton County Road Department.
He is survived by his children:  Melissa (Donnie) Mounsey & Johnny (Karen) Stephens; 4-Grandchildren:  Jordon “Scooter” Mounsey, Kasey “Half-Pint” (Mark) Lechlak, Mylee “Peanut” Stephens, & Lilly “Bug” Mounsey; 2-Sisters:  Pearl (Bruce) Tubman & Ludelle Franklin; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 19 at Shepard Funeral Home from6-8 PM with the memorial services beginning at 8:00 PM.  Brother Eddie Story will officiate.
