JOHN RODENBARGER

March 25, 1942 — June 2, 2012

John Rodenbarger, 70 of Hilliard lost his battle with cancer Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Acosta-Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Delphi, Indiana to the late Joe and Gladys Rodenbarger. He loved gardening, fishing and hunting and visiting the Great Smokey Mountains. He was an avid Florida Gator fan and loved Indiana Hoosier Basketball. He loved his family and friends very much.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Frances Reed Rodenbarger; 3-Daughters: Angela (Jason) Wade, Melanie (John) Rogers, Michelle (Billy) Long; 1-Son: Robert Scott (Deanna) Rodenbarger; 10-Grandchildren: Ashley Wade, Brett Wade, Rachael Wade, Courtney Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Jerrica Rogers, Candice (Travis) Lloyd, Billy Long, Blake Long, and Reese Rodenbarger; 3-Great Grandsons: Brandan Ei, Bryce Hobbs, and Dalton Hobbs; 1-Sister: Jean (Bud) Mummert and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Tom and Steve Rodenbarger, a niece: Debra Mummert and a nephew: Gregg Mummert. A special thanks to Bub and Nancy Parker for all of their love and support through this difficult time.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 6, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ricky Dyal officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Hilliard, Florida.
