John Leonard "J.L." Reeves, Jr.

John Leonard Reeves, Jr. (J.L.), 89, passed away at his home on Monday, July 24, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born in Hilliard, FL on December 13, 1933 to the late John L. Reeves, Sr. and Nettie Conner Reeves. He was an Elder in the Primitive Baptist faith and member of Nathalene Primitive Baptist Church. He owned J.L. Reeves Plumbing, Heating & Air for almost 50 years. He was married to Geraldine Sikes Reeves for 67 years until she passed in June 2021.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 grandsons; John D. Reeves and William Reeves, 2 brothers; Leon Perpall and Wiley Reeves.

He is survived by his 9 children; Phillip (Linda), Brenda (Stanley) Bell, Leonard (Cathy), Leisa (Mike) McKendree, Rhonda (James) McKendree, Mark (Jill), Timothy (Tammy Lynn), Preston (Tammy), Paula (Mark) Addison, 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 1 brother; Marvin Reeves, 2 sisters; Berta Lou Sikes and Mary Jean Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at Nathalene Primitive Baptist Church at 17106 Nathalene Drive in Hilliard, FL at 11:00am on Thursday, July 27, 2023 with Elder Tollie Lee officiating. Burial will be in Nathalene Church Cemetery. Viewing will be at his home at 23241 Outpost Lane Hilliard, FL on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00PM.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
