John Kingsley Nelson, 94 of Hilliard, passed away February 21, 2008 in Community Hospice Morris Center, Jacksonville, Florida.
He was born October 3, 1914 to John Peter Nelson and Olive Davis Nelson Cannon in Spokane, Washington. During his working years, he was employed as a Graphic Artist and Cameraman for Walt Disney. Mr. Nelson had been a resident of Hilliard for the past 4 years. He was a member of the Atascadero Art Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Boulougne.
Survivors: two Sons: John B. Nelson and Christopher B. Nelson (Deanne) of Conroe, Tx.. One Daughter: Barbara A. Barnett(Gary) of Sisters, Or.; One Step-Son: Neal D. Young(Doylene) of Hilliard, Fl.; Four Step-Daughters: Stella E. Ruehling of Hilliard, Fl.; Dee Madison(Earl) of Heiskell, Tn.; Teresa L. Hendrix of Bend, Or.; Sheri M. Underwood(Michael) of Alachua, Fl.; Eighteen Grandchildren, 11 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great- grandchild.
Pallbearers: Neal Young, Darin Young, Kurt Steck, Chris Nelson, Tommy Beasley and Oscar Petty.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Boulougne at 11:00 AM, with Dr. Robert Tibbs officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood, Cemetery, Hilliard, Florida.Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest register at www.shepardfh.com.
