John Thomas Melton, Sr.

John Thomas Melton, Sr., 75, of Folkston, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was born in Waycross, Georgia on November 3, 1947 to the late James Thomas Melton and Ethel Harris Melton. John served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the React CB Radio Club and loved to watch wrestling. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother; Leonard Melton, and a sister; Christine McPhetridge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; Katherine Iona Roach Melton, 4-children; Elizabeth (Robert) Hoggard, John Thomas (Karina) Melton, Jr., Victoria Melton, and Scott Adam Melton, 2-grandchildren; Shawn Ray Hoggard and Kayla Melton, 1-great-grandchild; Shawn Ray Hoggard, Jr., 3-brothers; James Melton, Donnie Melton, and Kenneth Melton, 3-sisters; Kathleen Zibrowski, Sandra Kay Tucker, and Diane Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. Memorialization will be by cremation.
