Joel Spradley

Joel Samuel “Sammy” Spradley, 68, of Folkston, GA left this life Wednesday, December 1 in Jacksonville, FL following a lengthy illness.  He was born January 4, 1953 in Folkston, GA to the late Joel Fairlee Spradley and Vernell Burch Spradley.  He proudly served his country in the US Army Reserves for 14 years.  He faithfully served as pastor of the Hortense Holiness Church for 18 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son:  Joe Samuel Spradley and two sisters:  Juanell Andrix and JoAnne Nolder.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years:  Kathy Spradley; a daughter and son-in-law:  Ginger and Eustace Griffin; 2-granddaughters:  Joelee Griffin and Karis Griffin; 3-sisters:  Shirley (David) Hudson, Peggy (Grant) Everage, and Tammy (Brooke) Rowe; 2-brothers:  Buddy (Judy) Spradley and Russell (Tina) Spradley and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 6 at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held at the church Tuesday, December 7 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Steve Willingham officiating.  Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery in Folkston, GA.
