JoAnn Howell

JoAnn Herrin Howell, 77, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family June 11, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born October 3, 1942 in Hickox, GA to the late J.C. Herrin and Sarah Johns Herrin.  She retired from the Duval County School Board after a number of years of service.  She was a member of Cedar Bay Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years:  Lee Howell; children:  Rhonda (Gary) Geoghagan, Sheila (Eddie) Widener, Shelly Bell and Dale (Rena) Howell; a brother:  Jerry Herrin; a brother-in-law:  Eddie Howell; 10-grandchildren:  Tessa, Trace and  Caleb Geoghagan, Barry (Pam) Widener, Samantha (James) Hobbs, Travis (Melissa) Russell, Jr., William Trevor Russell and Sarah (John) Griffis, Laurel and Lily Howell; 12-great grandchildren several aunts and one uncle and nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Cemetery in the Bachlott Community of Brantley County, Georgia.  Her brother, Jerry Herrin, will officiate the home going service.
