Jewell White

Jewell Conner White, 85, of Folkston, passed away peacefully Wednesday November 18 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Ocala, Florida. Mrs. White, the youngest and last surviving child of eight children born to the late Stewart and Mary Ann C. Conner, was a native and life-long resident of Folkston, Georgia. She graduated from Massey Business College, in Jacksonville, FL, after completing high school and used the skills she acquired to become a book keeper for several business firms, including Jay's IGA and Big J before retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Folkston United Methodist Church. She enjoyed needlework and make many beautiful quilts for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harold J. White and by their son: Hal White. She was a loving wife and mother.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Shirley W. and Bobby Gay of Ocala, Florida; 2-Grandsons and their wives: Drew & Jill Gay of LaGrange, Georgia and Ty & Whitney Gay of Dalton, Georgia; 2-Great Grandsons: Ander Gay and Tyler Gay of LaGrange and Dalton, Georgia. And a number of Nieces and Nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday November 20 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 21 at 11:00 AM at the Folkston United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
