Jessie William (Jimmy) Moore of Hilliard, FL passed away on Monday, 2/4/13 at the age of 81. He was born in Sharpsburg, GA on 5/31/31 to Mattie Bell and John Moore. He served in the Army before moving to Florida as a young adult where he married Bobbie Dean Sullivan Nelson who preceded him in 1972. Together they had one child, Roberta Faye (Robbie).
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Margie Feltman; brothers: Hubert and Charlie Moore and daughters: Donna Nelson Strickland and Dianne Hodges.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Laura (Anne) Scott Hodges Moore; daughters: Robbie (Donald) Higginbotham and Regina Hodges (Joel) Mackenzie and son: Louis (Janice) Hodges. Also surviving are his grandsons: Donald William (Kendra) Higginbotham, Ryan Adam (Kayla) Higginbotham, Duane Hodges, Jesse (Lisa) Crews and Sean Wade; granddaughters Deana Lybarger, Carrie Jo Tadlock, Amy Hendrix, Katie Owens and Mandy Lenertz; great-grandsons Austin, Hunter and Jackson; great-granddaughters Taylor, Alexis, Mackenzie, Bailey, Carly, Pressley and one very special soon to arrive great granddaughter, Harper Rae Higginbotham, who he hoped would be born on his birthday, as well as several special nieces and nephews in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.
Viewing will be Friday, February 8, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Shepard Funeral Home, Folkston, GA. The service will be held on Saturday February 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, with Rev. Alton Crews officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Hilliard, Florida.
