Jessie “Penny” Woodard Hodges of Folkston, Georgia passed away November 3, 2009 at Shand's Jacksonville.
Penny was born November 12, 1927 to Phillip H. and Sallie Sandiford Woodard in Eastman, Georgia. She was a member of the Red Hats, worked with the local Relay for Life,a member of Mill Creek homemakers in St. Augustine, Florida and a member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church. She was a loving, caring Mother, grandmother and Friend to many.
Survivors include: One daughter: Kathrine (Gerald) Platt of Folkston, Georgia; two sons: Phillip(Clelia) Mullis of Orlando, Florida; Wayne (Lisa) Mullis of Atlantic Beach, Florida;Eight Grandchildren, eleven Great-grandchildren and two Great-great-grandchildren; Two Sisters: Trellie Shepherd of McDonough, Georgia; Ernestine (Bill)Yoder of Woodburn, Oregan; One Brother: J.T. Woodard of Eastman, Georgia; Ann (Floyd) Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ethan(Jewel) Woodard of Jacksonville, Florida; Many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by Two sisters: Esther Parkerson of Eastman, Georgia; Minnie Pitts of Dublin, Georgia; Two Brothers: Woodrow Woodard of Eastman, Georgia and Walter Woodard of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 6 until 8 PM at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church. The family request Memorial contributions to be made to the Baptist Children's Home, Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Church with Rev. David Beckham officiating. Burial will follow in Craig Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Augustine, Florida at 2:30PM.
