Jesse Hudgins

Jesse Eugene Hudgins, 80, of Folkston, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 26 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Waycross, Georgia to the late Mae Pullen. He was a member of the Folkston Lions club and a former member of the Homeland City Council. He loved wood working, gardening, and being outdoors. He was a “Jack of all trades” and loved being “Santa’s Helper.” He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951-1952.

He is survived by a son: Jeff Hudgins & wife Karen; a grandson: Justin Hudgins; a granddaughter: Ashley Hudgins; a sister: Peggy Smith; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 29 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, Georgia from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held Monday April 2 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Gabe Cummings officiating. Burial will be Monday, April 2 at 1:30 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
