James “Dub” Waustein Harris, Sr., 80, of Hilliard, FL passed away at his residence October 13, 2020. He was born in Folkston, Georgia on August 24, 1940 to the late Riley Harris and Harriett Lake Harris. In his spare time, he loved to fish and enjoyed working in his garden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: James W. Harris, Jr. and 2-brothers: Curtis Harris and Dave Harris.
He is survived by his loving companion: Lois Henderson; his children: James “Rowdy” (Trish) Harris, II, Robert “Bob” (Tammy) Harris, A.J. Henderson, Helen Harris, Priss Harris and Michelle Jones; a brother: Carl Harris; sister: Helen Sikes; 27-grandchildren; 11-great grandchildren and many others that called him Papa Dub; and a host of nieces and nephews. He loved each of them dearly and in their own special way.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 15 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16 at 11:00 AM in the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mitchell Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in the Bachlott Community of Brantley County.
Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules of social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
