James Crawford

James Mearl Crawford, 90 of St. George, Georgia passed away July 19, 2014 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida.  He was born December 14, 1923 in St. George to Jim and Josephine Victoria Batten Crawford. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was employed with E.L. Thompson in Atlanta, Georgia and also Center Brothers. He retired as a self-employed Dry wall finisher. He was a lifelong resident of St. George.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Velma Mattie Lee Johnson Crawford and a son:
James Mearl Crawford, Jr.
Survivors include: his brother: Leamon Crawford; One Grandchild, One great-grand child and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church of St. George from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with services beginning at 11:00. Rev. James Conner and Rev. Ray McKendree will officiate. Burial will follow in Conner-Nelson Cemetery.
