Herbert Drury

Herbert William Drury, 71 of Folkston passed away February 20, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 19, 1943 in Hoboken, Georgia to William A.”Bill” and Ruby Lavon Thornton Drury. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Gilman Paper Company in the Timber Division and White Oak Plantation; and also with Humphries Mining Company. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his children: Diane Davis of Folkston; Lee Drury of Folkston and Susan Speelman (Eric) of Warner Robins; three Brothers: Richard Drury (Brenda) ; Reavis Drury(Judy) ; and Steve Drury (Kay) ; four sisters: Macie Todd (James); Dorothy Roddenberry (Jack); Mildred Crews; Larene Crews (Larry); twelve Grandchildren, twenty-nine Great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents: William A.”Bill” and Ruby Lavon Thornton Drury; a brother: Milton Drury and a granddaughter: Janie Drury.
Pallbearers: James Rogers, Jeremy Brewer, Jimmy McCouglla, Howard Beard, Stevie Lloyd and Stanley Harden.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 24, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel with Rev. Ray McMillan officiating. Burial will follow in Racepond Cemetery.
