Mr. Hancel Harley Crews Howell, 74, of Folkston, passed away from injuries sustained in a house fire at his residence November 21, 2009. He was born in Brantley County Georgia to the late Thomas Harley Howell and Thelma Estelle Hickox Howell.
He is survived by his wife: Gloria Sellers Howell; 8-Children: Tommy (Diane) Howell, Hancel (Faye) Howell, Jr., Larry Joe (Wanda) Howell, Billy Ray (Janey) Howell, Diane (Tommy)Heath, Spencer (Lindsey) Howell, Thomas (fiance Brittany) Howell, and Josh Howell; 14-Grandchildren: Mandy Howell, Billy Sellers, Harley Howell, Kim Storey, Linda Lovett, Lily Leggett, Christy Leggett, Patricia Howell, Abby Surrency, Bobby Joe Tinoco, Teresa Story, Brittany Serrency, and Larry Howell, Chris ( Dawn) Taylor; 20-Great Grandchildren: Lucus Sellers, Zachery Lovett, Hovis Lovett, Brandon Leggett, Christopher Leggett, Trevor Howell, Ricky Howell, Javier Howell, Austin Howell, Dakota Howell, Daisey Surrency, Erica Surrency, Nathon Surrency, Wanda Sue Surrency, Johnathon Surrency, Kadee Surrency, and Kaden Lowe, Anica Taylor, Miranda Taylor and Kelsey Taylor. He was preceded in death by Pamela Howell and Rodney Dylan.
The family will receive friends Tuesday November 24 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 25 at 2:00 PM at the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Richard Hannans, Don Hannans, Will Turner, John Bullard, Sam King, and Justin King. Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery.
