Gwendolyn Hodges

Gwendolyn G. Hodges, 82, of Hilliard, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Waynesville, Georgia to the late Ollie and Bessie Day Hinson. Gwendolyn is preceded in death by two sons, Ricky and Randy Hodges. She was a member of Buford Grove Baptist Church.

Gwendolyn was known as a loving, caring and amazing wife, mother & grandmother who was dedicated to taking care of her family. Gwendolyn will always be remebered as a women who never said an unkind word about anyone, who showed her love through cooking and making sure everyone was taken care of and most of all a women who loved the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years: Jessie J. Hodges; 4-Children: Donna (Donald) Manning, Mickey (Karen) Hodges, Russell Hodges and Norman (Lisa) Hodges; 2- Sisters: Ollette Stokes and Claudette Jones; a Brother: Ferrell Hinson; 13-Grandchildren and 12-Great Grandchildren.

The family will recieve friends Friday, January 8, 2010 at Shepard Funeral Home from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9 at Buford Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Curtis Harrington and Josh Hinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
