Guthrie Shelton Crumpler, 88, of Folkston, passed away April 16, 2011 at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, Georgia. He was born March 6, 1923 in Forsyth County, North Carolina to the late Irving and Jesse Preston Crumpler. He retired as a diesel mechanic with Pilot Freight Carriers.
He is survived by his wife: Polly Sikes Crumpler; 2-sons: Ray (Susan) Crumpler and Justin Crumpler and 3-Grandhcildren: Travis Jennings, Brock Jennings and Jacob Mercer. He was preceded in death by a brother: Lawrence Crumpler and a sister: Magdalene Hoyle.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 18 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery.
