Glenn Dixon, 75 of Folkston passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was born in Toledo Community of Charlton County on June 9, 1936 to Earney and Gertrude Crawford Dixon. He served his Country in the United States Air force, retiring after twenty years of service. He continued working at Kings Bay with Civil Service and also as Jailor with the Charlton County Sheriff’s Department, before his final retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years: Rachel Mattox Dixon; Two daughters: Vanessa Dixon Bennett (Glenn) of St. Marys, Georgia; Theresa Webb (Rick) of Sparks, Nevada; Two sons: Lionel Dixon(Charlotte) of Woodbine, Georgia; Gary Dixon of Woodbine, Georgia; Nine Grandchildren; Eleven Great-grandchildren; two brothers: Cecil Dixon(Laura) of Cumming, Georgia; John Dixon(Joan) of St. Marys, Georgia; one sister: Lillian McCoy of Savannah, Georgia; several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a step-son: Larry Cooper and a grandson: Justin Bennett.
A Memorial service celebrating his life will be Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Rev. Parnell Aldridge and Rev. Edward Dixon officiating.
