Gladys Louise King, 95 of Waycross passed away October 16, 2011 in Satilla Regional medical Center. She was born April 6, 1916 to Walter F. and Ellen Smith Ivey in Norman Park, Georgia. She was employed as a Nurse at Satilla Regional Medical Center until her retirement. Ms. Gladys was a member of Ware county Homemakers Club, Okefenokee Garden club and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter F. Ivey and Ellen smith Ivey; Sisters: Ola Arnold, Mabel Branch, Medina Argo; Brother: Clinton Ivey; Daughter: June Graham; Grandson: Donnie Pope: Husbands: Forrest Pope, George Bray, Bill Freeman and Leo King; Great-grandson: Angelo Felix.
Survivors include: Daughters: Mable (Wilburn) Fletcher of Waycross; Kathy (Jim) Rich of Melbourne, Fl.; Sons: Floyd (Mary) Pope of Central Florida; Lowell (Faye) King of Starke, Florida; Jerome (Marie) King of Fayetteville, N.C.; Sister-in-law: Lorena Ivey of Opelika, Al.; 15 Grandchildren; Numerous Great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren , Nieces, Nephews and many other relatives.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 21, 2011 at Sweetwater Baptist Church from 1:30 PM- 3:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 Pm. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
