Gertrud Banks

Gertrud “Trudy” Schwalb Banks, 88, of Folkston, Georgia passed away November 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Schotten Germany to the late Ludwig Schwalb and Anna Kraft Schwalb. She came to the United States in 1948 after meeting her husband, Marshall L. Banks following World War II. She was a homemaker and loved to quilt, crochet and work with her hands. She was lovingly referred to as Krautmama and no one left her home without a doily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Lawrence Banks.
She is survived by her 4-Children: Larry Banks, Rhonda Banks, Kim Passieu, and Tim Banks; 7-Grandchildren and 8-Great Grandchildren
The family will receive friends at 58 Dena Drive Saturday November 24 from 6-8 pm. A Graveside service will be held Sunday November 25 in Pineview Cemetery at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dave Willett officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the Folkston United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice in Brunswick, Georgia.
