GEORGE THOMAS

George Earl Thomas, 71 of Folkston passed away August 20, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born August 24, 1940, to the late John Henry and Mary Daniels Thomas. He was a member of Rehoboth Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Christine Knowles Thomas of Folkston; two children: Ricky Thomas (Angela) of Waycross; Jenny O’Berry (Arnold) of Folkston; eight Grandchildren: 2 Great-grandchildren; Brothers: Calvett Thomas (Alphia) of Waycross, John Allen. Thomas (Mary) of Waycross, David Thomas (Lynn) of Hortense, Liston Thomas (Darlene) of Hortense, Sammy Thomas (Janice) of Blackshear; Sisters: Lizzie Mae Merritt of Homerville; Myrtle Pittman (Bobby) of Waycross, Melba Steedley of Blackshear; Sheila Ray (Earl) of Waycross and several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a son: Timothy Earl Thomas, Sr.; Grandson: John Allen Thomas; a brother: Melvin Thomas (Vera Mae), sisters: Alma Yarbrough and Geraldine Pittman.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church at 10:00 AM with Rev. Robbie Yawn officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
