April 21, 1931 — September 7, 2012

Gaynelle Swan Steedley Lloyd, 81 of Folkston passed away September 7, 2012 at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania on April 21, 1931 to David and Hilda Goodman Swan. She had been a resident of Charlton County since 1975. Gaynelle was a member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: one daughter: Euleen Steedley ; one son: Jason Steedley; One Grandchild: Jay Michael Steedley; One daughter-in-law: Debra Walsh Steedley Ganey, all of Folkston. She was preceded in death by her husband: Eullis Jay (Jaybird) Steedley of Manor, Georgia; her father and mother; her brother: David Swan of Detroit, Michigan and a sister: Deloris Jean Swan of Port Norris, New Jersey.
The family would like to thank the following for their support and kindness during our mother’s illness: Rev. Tim Hall, Jean Daniels, Keith Daniels, Faye Todd, Sharon Harkins and the members of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church, Rev. David Willet of Folkston United Methodist Church, Rev. David and Ginny Beckham, Dr. Abdelmalik, Lisa Johnson and the staff of Family Practice, Dr. Allen, Dr. Thomas the entire staff of Charlton Memorial Hospital, friends and co-workers of Jason, Charlton County Road Dept.; Jay Michael,Taylor Timber and Euleen Steedley,Charlton Memorial Hospital and to Lawanna Gamage for always being there with encouragement and always listening. A special thanks to the Wade and Polly Chauncey family, Heartland Hospice; especially Darie, Denise and Maria and their Pastor: Iane Satre and Aubrey, Sarah, Delisha; Dr. Srinivasan and Dr. Singh and their staff at SE Georgia Onocolgy, American Home Patient, Shumans Home Health, Folkston Pharmacy. A very special thank you to her devoted care givers: Jacan Peterson and Nora Stough. To Debra Walsh Ganey, thank you for everything. We could not have gotten through this without you. She loved you like you were her own child.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim Hall officiating. The family request Memorial contributions be made to Camp Pinckney Baptist Church, Heartland Hospice or Charlton Memorial Hospital.
