Frank Lyvon Ratliff, was called home to play the fiddle with the angels in the Lord’s heavenly band on Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was born January 12, 1945 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Frank Marcus Ratliff and Vianna Carolyn Johns. He retired in 2014 from OREMC as a lineman after 49 years of service. He enjoyed playing the fiddle and making beautiful hand crafted fiddles.
He is survived by his sons: Garrett (Cindy) Ratliff, Kevin (Lisa) Tomlinson; Grandchildren: Alex Ratliff, Brette Gray, Erica Tomlinson, Gregory Merrill, John Paul (Kelly) Bullard, James (Cherie) Bullard, Diana Bond; Great Grandchildren: J.D. and Briana Bullard; Brothers: Leon (Leona) Ratliff, Terry (Kim) Ratliff; Sisters: Lynn (Nicholas) Geisler, Martha (Richard) Cornelius, Suzie Williams; many nieces, nephews and a special companion: Prisscilla Knowles.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank Marcus (Hazel Wynn) Ratliff, Vianna Carolyn Johns Statler; his loving wife of 43 years: Kay Tomlinson Ratliff; Nephews: Jason Adam Ratliff, Frank Wesley Williams and Niece Melanie Ratliff Barlow.
The family will receive friends August 26 at Victory Baptist Church from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 27 at 11:00 AM at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Tim King and Rev. Joel Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Pinckney Cemetery.
