Frances Pickren

Frances Louise Raulerson Pickren, 80 of Folkston, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Mobile, Ala. on September 8, 1928 to Carlos Osborne and Allie Turner Raulerson. She was a loving and faithful Christian wife and mother who taught children's Sunday School for forty plus years. Her ministry included sending cards of encouragement to family, friends and acquaintances. She was also a member of First Baptist Church. Her strength and grace was only surpassed by her faith in the power of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, S.L. Pickren of Folkston, Ga.; one son: Sam(Daphne) of Folkston, Ga.; two daughters: Cathy Clark of St. Marys, Ga., and Gina (Robert) Paulk of St. Marys, Ga.; one sister: Sherry(Nick) Frank of Elberta, Ala.; one brother: Carlos Raulerson of Blackshear, Ga.; 12 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren; 5 Nieces and 9 Nephews; many friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters: Sandra Leiterman, Betty Stover and Elvera Robinson.
Pallbearers: Joe Dan Pickren, Justin Paulk, Jacob Paulk, Paul Clark, Trenton Drury and Josh Hodges.
Graveside services will be Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Pineview cemetery at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Norm Sweeting and Rev. Gene McCullough officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the family's home in Folkston.
The family request Memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society/Charlton County Relay for Life, 3011 Hampton Ave., Ste: 351, Brunswick, Ga. 31520.
