Ethel Marie Abbott Crews, 61, of Folkston, GA passed away August 3, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 23, 1955 in Jacksonville, FL to Jake Abbott and Mary Blackman Huling. Mrs. Crews has been a member of Victory Baptist Church for 34 years and was a teacher at the Folkston Christian Academy for many years. She loved God, her husband, family and church. She enjoyed Studying her bible, cooking for her family, planting flowers, keeping up with the news, long conversations, spending time with her family, quilting and crocheting. She has been such an inspiration to many families and touched many lives. She will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother: Ethel Blackman, her grandfather: Eugene Blackman and her father-in-law: Buck Crews.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Joe Crews; her mother: Mary Huling; her mother-in-law: Margie Crews; a sister: Collie (John) Lairsey; a brother: Rodger (Gina) Bennett; 2-Daughters: Betty Jean (Keith) Haywood & Linda Lewis; 3-sons: Darren Crews, Matthew Crews & Michael Crews; Grandchildren: Emma Crew, Kala (Jess) Nettles, Whitney Dorman, Ethan Highsmith, Shelby Johnson, Haley Crews, Alyssa Crews, Malachi Crews, Maryella Crews; Great Grandchildren: Nathan Nettles, Kaden Garcia, Brantley Nettles, Bryleigh Garcia & Cecil Nettles and a number of nieces, nephews and other realtives.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 4 at Victory Baptist Church in Folkston from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 5 at 10:00 AM at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Tim King, Rev. Eddie Story officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Rev. E.C. Crews officiating.
