Ernest "Bushy" Dinkins, Jr.

Ernest Bruce “Bushy” Dinkins, Jr., of Folkston, GA passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021.  He was born April 21, 1958 in Folkston, GA to the late Ernest Bruce Dinkins, Sr. and Edna Corine Spence Dinkins.  He was a millright with Westrock in Fernandina Beach, FL and formerly a Boiler Maker with Local 26 in Savannah, GA. He was a member of River of Praise Church in Yulee, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law:  Ralph and Mary Lou Roberson and a great nephew:  Izak Bruce Rewis.

He is survived by his wife:  Barbara Roberson Dinkins; a daughter:  Tiffany (Josh) Mercer; grandchildren:  Abigail Mercer, Addison Mercer and Ava Belle Mercer; sisters:  Delores (Mike) Rewis, Dorinda (Danny) Montgomery, Delene Davis, Della (Michael) Hannan and Daffyne (Mark) Davis; brother-in-law:  Gary (Cathy) Roberson and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 1 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 2 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Carter officiating.  Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Donavon Rewis, Perry Green, Zeke Hilton, Richard “Bobo” Davis, Justin O'Berry and Shane Davis.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Huling, Marty Lang, Craig Knox, Lonnie Joe Davis, Ernest Sikes, Jr., Donald Southerland, Lee Southerland, Frank “Doc” Selley and Ronnie Jones.
