Emory Milton Batton, Jr., 80, of Homeland, passed away Thursday February 14 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Emory Milton and Oveda Murrow Batton, Sr. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Grace Chapel Baptist Church. He retired from Gilman Paper Company. He was preceded in death by his sister:Helen Pearson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Pearl C. Batton of Homeland; 5-Children: Joe (Kim) Batton of Folkston, GA, Gayle (Phillip) Olson of Brunswick, GA, Cathy (Bruce) Flansburg of Folkston, GA, Julie (Jamey) O'Steen of Waynesville, GA, and Billy (Lynette) Batton of Folkston, GA; 2-Sisters: Mary Frances Lloyd of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Helen Davis of Folkston, GA; 6-Grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Katie, Derric, Lilli, and Tanner; 3-Great Granchildren: Bryan, Jacey and Bria.
The family will receive friends Saturday February 16 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston From 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Sunday February 17 at 2:00 PM at Grace Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Sweeting and Rev. Gene McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Homeland Cemetery.
