Elaine Johnson

Elaine J. Johnson, 72, of Waycross, GA formerly of Hilliard, FL, passed away on September 10, 2022 peacefully after a well fought battle with breast cancer. She was the daughter of Marvin Johns and Leila Raulerson Johns. She was born In Brantley County. She worked and retired from Hilliard Pharmacy after 27 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years; Sammy Johnson and her brother; Dwight Johns.

Survivors include her two daughters; Amanda Bridges (Matthew Williams) of Waycross, GA and Brenda Baumgartner of Jacksonville, FL, 3 step-daughters; Jessamy (Dean) Elsworth of Jacksonville, FL, Carrie (Mark) Young of Orange Park, FL and Trilby Smith of North Carolina, 1 sister; Susan Hallman of Fernandina Beach, FL, 1 brother; Johnny Johns of Hilliard, FL, 1 sister-in-law; Darlene Johns, 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Bro. Monroe Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, GA.
