Edna Corine Spence Dinkins, 71 of Homeland passed away Saturday, July 4th at her residence.
She was born in Lyons, Georgia on March 8, 1938 to Rufus L. Spence and Earline Sikes Spence Thomas. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Homeland.
Survivors include: a Son: Ernest B. Dinkins, Jr.(Barbara) of Yulee, Fl.; 5 Daughters: Delores Rewis(Mike) of Folkston, Georgia; Dorinda Montgomery(Daniel) of Folkston; Delene Davis(Calvin) of Folkston; Della Harden(Stanley) of Folkston; Daffyne Davis(Mark) of Folkston; 5 Sisters: Joan Dixon(John) of Kingsland; Willene Johnson(Roland) of Folkston; Linda Creel(Nal) of Folkston; Elaine Watson of Folkston; Barbara Meadows of Folkston; 14 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren ; 13 Nieces, 13 Nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Dinkins, Sr., Father: Rufus L. Spence, Mother: Earline S. Thomas; Sister Ruby Santrock and a nephew Irvin Meadows.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 6, 2009 from 6 until 8 PM at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlton County Public Library Children's Programs.
Pallbearers: Adam Rewis, Donavon Rewis, Shane Davis, Johnny Davis, Zeke Hilton, Richard(Bobo) Davis and Bruce Rewis . Honorary Pallbearers: Charlton County EMS and CCHS Football Team.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery.
