Doris Phillips

Doris Marie Varnes Phillips, 69, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away at her residence February 28, 2013. She was born in Hilliard, Florida to the late Cleve Vennis Varnes and Jennie Doris Allen Varnes. She was an avid seamstress and loved needlework and quilting. She was a member in the Quilting Club. She was a member of the Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Clint Phillips, Sr., a Son: Michael David Phillips, a Granddaughter: Jennifer Wetherington; 2-Brothers: Cleveland Varnes and Leslie Varnes and a Sister: Wanda Varnes. She is survived by a Son: Clint (Karen) Phillips, Jr., 2-Daughters: Gail Phillips (David), Ann (Nelson) Wetherington; a Brother: Wesley (Barbara) Varnes; 5-Sisters: Ruth Nobles, Mildred (Gene) Colbert, Peggy Lolar, Glenda (Stockton) Nighbert, Ellen Varnes; 8-Grandchildren, 11-Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces, Nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends Sunday March 3 at Shepard Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday March 4 at 1:00 PM in the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery in Callahan, Florida.
