DOREEN PARKER

Doreen Nelson Parker, 82 of Hortense passed away January 25, 2012 in Bayview Nursing Home, Nahunta, Georgia. She was born in Hilliard on June 25, 1930 to Lewis and Minnie Mae Johnson Nelson. She was a member of Little Phebe of Folkston.
Survivors include: three daughters: Brenda Kaye Gibson(Alan); Jeanne Doreen Phillips(David); Jeanette mercer(Shelton); two sons: Ira Wayne Parker(Liz); Richard Dennis Parker(Beverly); one brother: Richard Nelson(Ruby) and an honorary child: Thomas Harris(Kathy); 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers: Stanley Guinn, Brandon Parker, Timothy Barnard, Joey Barnard, Wayne Parker Hodges and Joshua Parker Hodges. Honorary Pallbearers: Jason Nowling of Japan; and Christopher Phillips of Hilliard.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be Friday, January 27, 2012 in the Chapel of the funeral home at 3:00 PM with Jason Marden officiating. Burial will follow in Little Phebe Cemetery.
