DONALD WHITENER

Mr. Donald Glenn Whitener, 69, of Folkston, Georgia, passed away Saturday February 18 at his residence. He was born in Los Angeles, California to the late John Thomas Whitener and Alisue Moon Whitener. He retired from the DeKalb County School System after 35 years as a US History Teacher at Chamblee High School. He was an avid reader, gardner, and enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Charlton County Senior Citizens Center.
He is survived by his brother/partner: Robert T. Kirk; a daughter: Suzanne Whitner Jenkins; Son-In-Law: Scott Jenkins; a son: Keith Kirk: a daughter-in-law: Tammy Kirk and a grandson: Josh Kirk.
Memorialization will be by cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Heartland Hospice at www.heartlandhospicefund.org or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at www.aspca.org.
