DONALD NETTLES

Donald Nettles, 70, of Folkston, Georgia, passed away January 4, 2013 at Shands Jacksonville. He retired as foreman at the Varnes Turpentine and Cattle Company. Mr. Nettles also was the pastor of a number of churches in South Georgia.
He is survived by his wife: Lisa Wilson Nettles; 5-Children: Wade (Tammy) Nettles, Perry (Teresa) Nettles, Ruth Nettles Lee, Shadeena (Mark) Yarbrough, and David Nettles; 3-Step-Sons: Mikel (Jessica) Todd, Jamie (Jennifer) Todd), Joshua (Marsha) Todd; 8-Grandchildren: Brandi Crisco, Ashley Lowrance, Meleah Nettles, Nathaniel Nettles, Hannah, Lee, Brandon Lee, Amber Yarbrough, Dustin Yarbrough; 4-Step-Grandchildren: Jake Todd, Jayden Todd, Brandon Todd, and L.J. Strickland; 6-Great Grandchildren: Ethan Wade Crisco, Ryleigh Lee Crisco, Emma Carr, Chloe Lowrance, Colton Yarbrough, and Trenton Hamilton; a Brother: Tommy Nettles; and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Sunday January 6 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, Georgia from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7 at 1:00 PM at Dry Creek Baptist Church, 100 Dry Creek Road, Nichols, Georgia 31554. Rev. Glen Rowell and Rev. Mike Maddox will officiate. Burial will follow in Hall Cemetery.
