David Smith

John “David” Smith, 50 of Hilliard, FL died suddenly on August 30, 2007. Born June 15, 1957 in Panama City, FL, he moved to Callahan, FL and graduated from West Nassau in 1975. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a longtime member of Turkey Town Hunting Club. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a dedicated FSU Seminole fan. A loving husband and proud father, he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marlene and 3 sons, J.D (Amanda Higginbotham), Ben(Jennifer) and Adam (Amber Nelson) Smith, father and stepmother John and Peggy Smith, 2 brothers Tim Smith and Steven Hodges, 2 sisters: Dana(Anthony) Tackett and Chyrl Hodges,grandparents J.D. and Jean Collins, step-parents Vanis and Sarah Hodges, in-laws Robert and Joyce Davis, brother-in-law Robby (Latashia) Davis, 5 nephews and 2 nieces. several aunts, uncles and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lou Hazel Collins.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Monday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Boulougne with Rev. Larry Collins officiating. Internment will follow at Old Still Cemetery in Hilliard. Pallbearers will be Matthew Nelson, Mitch Whitley, Chase Howell, Windell Still, Mike Whitley, Curtis Russell, and Robert Davis III.
