Darling Harris

Darling Leavy Harris, 86, of Folkston, GA passed away October 5, 2015 at his residence.  He was born November 24, 1928 to the late Darling Lovejoy Harris and Lucy Johns Harris.  He was a member of the Hilliard First Assembly of God.  He retired from the Charlton County School System.  He also worked with Humphreys Mining Company, Western Auto and Gantt Heating and Air.
He was preceded in death by his first wife:  Lois “Tiny” Harris; a daughter:  Debra Ann McCarthy; a granddaughter:  Melissa Kay Harris and 5-Siblings:  Marvin Harris, Frank Harris, Ovie Lee, Audrey McClain and Vina Bell Burch.
He is survived by his wife:  Marion Pierce Harris; 2-Sons:  Leavy Wayne (Linda) Harris & John Huey (Hazel) Harris; 12-Grandchildren and 12-Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Rev. Arlie Johns officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery.
