Clyde Nettles

November 19, 1937 — April 15, 2014


Clyde Raymond Nettles, Sr., 76 of Homeland, Georgia passed away at his residence April 15, 2014,
surrounded by his loving family.  He was born November 19, 1937 to John Carlos and Rachel Hickox Nettles in
Folkston, Georgia. He served his Country in the United States Marine Corp. He served as a past County Commissioner, and past Mayor of Homeland. He was a member of Homeland Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years:  Barbara Nettles; one son: Clyde Raymond Nettles, Jr. (Nora); one daughter: Barbara Parker and the late Lenny Parker; two brothers: Cleveland Nettles (Joann) ; Earl Nettles(Betty); one sister: Wanda Jean Fife; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be Friday, April 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland, Cemetery.
