Claude “Sandy” Sanderson, 83, of Saint Augustine, Florida passed away June 1, 2010 at Flagler Hospital, Saint Augustine. He was born to the late Nonie Knowles and Jimmie Sanderson on December 18, 1926 in Folkston, Georgia. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Claude was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1017, the DAV, the VFW all in Saint Augustine, and the American Legion in Hartford, CT. H retired after 39 years of faithful service with the military and the US Postal Service
He is survived by 8-Children: Janine Greenberg Walker of Arizona, Frank Sanderson and Daniel Sanderson of East Dorset, Vermont, Debrah Sanderson, Darleen Sanderson, Mark Sanderson, Janine Pokusa and Steven Sanderson all of Connecticut; 6-Sisters: Elizabeth Barlow, Annette Deller, Reba Tripp, Velma Combs, Coy Ann Davis and Shirley Geiger; a Brother: W.C. Sanderson; 17-Grandchildren and 26-Great Grandchildren and a number of other relatives. He was preceded in death by a son: Claude “Monkey” Sanderson, Jr.; 2-Brothers: James and Clyde Sanderson; and a Sister: Juanita Brown.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10: AM at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church Cemetery.
