Chester Crews

Chester Thomas Crews, 91 of Hilliard passed away August 15, 2012 at his residence. He was born September 26, 1920 in Winokur, Georgia to Walter and Nancy Magnolia Johns Crews. Mr. Crews worked for many years as a wood producer and later retired as a heavy equipment operator with the Nassau County Road Department. He was a member of Old Paths Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Christine Geiger Crews; 5 children: Floyd T. Crews (Linda); Jerry M. Crews; D. Steven Crews; Sheila F. Brandies and Alton D. Crews (Kathy); one brother: Jewell A. Crews; one sister: Pauline Nelson; Nine grandchildren; nine Great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by one son: Dennis R. Crews.
Pallbearers will be his Grandsons.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Crews and Bro. Paul Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Brickyard Cemetery.
