Charna Gowen

Charna Kimbree Williamson Gowen, 86, of Folkston, GA passed away Monday, January 18, 2021.  She was born March 21, 1934 in Emmanuel County, Georgia to the late Grover Cleveland Williamson, Sr. and Natalie Keadle Williamson.  She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and moved to Folkston in 1954 when she married George Rhoan Gowen, III.  She was a member of the Folkston United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  George Rhoan Gowen, III; a grandson:  Matthew Gowen; and her siblings:  Judith Williamson Boatright, Grover Williamson, Larry Williamson, Christy Williamson, Marcia Williamson Grinter and Gloria Williamson Miles.

She is survived by her sons:  Mark (Jane) Gowen, Curtis Gowen, Doug (Valerie) Gowen and Chris (Alyson) Gowen; 7-grandchildren:  Luke (Becky) Gowen, Sarah Gowen, Abby Gowen (Tyler) Fleming, Ridge Gowen, Marissa Gowen, Erin Gowen and Anna Gowen; 3-great grandchildren:  Kimbree Gowen, Mark Gowen and Sawyer Fleming and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, January 20 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home.

Due to Covid-19, the family would like to ask all attendees to please follow the rules of social distancing and face masks are recommended at the service.  Also, anyone that does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
