CHARLES ROUNDTREE

Charles K. Roundtree, 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away September 30, 2013. He was born November 5, 1927 to the late Raymond Rountree and Marylee Simmons Rountree. He served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He was inspirational in starting the Hoboken Booster Club and the Brantley County Booster Club. He was a member and served faithfully at Dinsmore Baptist Church where he operated the Softball Concession Stand for many years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Joyce Canaday Roundtree; 3-Daughters: Mary Carter, Charlene Carter and Beverly Wilton; a Sister: Margie Crawford; 4-Brothers: Raymond Rountree, Jr., Elwyn Rountree, James Rountree, and Wayne Rountree; 6-Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Susan Roundtree and a Sister: Mary June Wilson. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 1 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 2 at 10:00 AM at Dinsmore Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Dr. Winson Butler officiating. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery in Callahan, Florida. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons: Chuck Roundtree, Daniel Tucker, Larry Carter, Jeff Garrett, Brian Coltrane, Austin Coltrane, Andrew Johnson, Zane Garrett, Levy Carter, Ethan Roundtree, Chase Carter, Payne Roberson and Bennett Roberson.
