CECIL CARTER

Cecil Carter, 82, of Folkston, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 25 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Racepond Georgia to the late Allen and Eyre Crews Carter. He was the owner/operator of Carter Construction Company for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Ruth Tucker Carter; 3-children: Fred (Andrea) Carter, Betty Carter (Shelton) Johnson and Steve (Shannon) Carter; 2-Sisters: Lillian Crews, Alene Nelson; 1-Brother: Harvin (Kay) Carter; 8-Grandchildren: Ryan Carter, Chris Carter, Nikki Carter, Jake Carter, Jeff (Heather) Johnson, Karen (Brett) Grove, Brandon Carter and Derek Carter; and 8-Great Grandchildren: a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers: Ricky Carter, Larry Carter, Dennis Crews, Danny Crews, Herman Carter and Allen Nelson.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 27 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 AM at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church with Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
