Carolyn Ruby Hannans Green, 53, of Folkston, GA passed away August 14 in Jacksonville, FL following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Folkston, GA September 9, 1962. She was formerly a member of Jerusalem Holiness Church on Folkston and currently served a Secretary at Macedonia Baptist Church in St. George, GA. She began her career with the Charlton County School System as Lead Teacher in the Head Start Program, a substitute teacher and served 13 years as a Paraprofessional at the elementary and middle school.
She was preceded in death by her brother: John Earl Hannans; a brother-in-law: Garfield Green and a sister-in-law: Kathleen Green.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years: Wesley Green; a daughter: Brittany Green; a son: Johnlin Green; a granddaughter: Kiara Dickerson; her parents: Henry L. Hannans, Sr. and Ruby Lee Hamilton Hannans; 3-Sisters: Connie Smith, Rose Hannans, and Cherylin Adim (Victor); 4-Brothers: Richard Hannans (Etoria), Donald Hannans, Henry L. Hannans, Jr. (Linda), Harold Hannans (Ethel); Her mother-In-law: Lucille Haywood and her husband Troy; 8-brothers-in-law: Emory Green, Eddie James Green, Connie Green (Barbara Ann), Melvin Green, Freddie Green (Martina) Ernest Green (Colestine) Perry Green (Stephanie), Edward Green (Sherilanda); a sister-in-law: Brenda Lee Brown (Raymond) and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 AM at Jerusalem Holiness Church in Folkston, GA with Rev. Gregory Washington officiating and Rev. Terrence Pender Presiding. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery.
