Carnie Jean Marr McDonald
Carnie Jean Marr McDonald, 78, of Woodbine, GA, passed away Sunday, May 29 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick. She was born in Folkston, GA, the ninth child of twelve children, to the late Euley Marr and Mary Frances Phillips Marr. A lifetime resident of Camden County, GA, she was a dispatcher for the Georgia Forestry Commission of Camden County for 42 years, and was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband James McDonald, son Steve M. Guy, one sister and six brothers.
She is survived by her children Debbie (Steve) Waller and Annette (Tom) Gutierrez; grandchildren Christy Dixon, David (Savannah) Dixon, Christopher Gutierrez and Carolynn Gutierrez; great grandchildren Olivia Dixon and Madalyn Dixon; brothers Ray (Hazel) Marr Sr., Ralph (Betsy) Marr Sr.; sisters Margaret Marr Miller, and Juanita (Melvin) Marr Brooks; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 31 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6-8 PM. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Marr Cemetery, 21335 Hwy. 40 West, Folkston, GA, located between the 2 and 3 mile markers on Hwy 40 W.
