Carlie Mae Stokes Trout, 90, of Folkston, passed away Wednesday June 18 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was a life long resident of Charlton County. Her parents were the late Lewis E. and Molly Braddock Stokes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Folkston where she taught Sunday School. She was Past President of the Folkston Garden Club and was a Director of the State of Georgia Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Glenn L. Trout of Folkston, GA; a Daughter: Jane (Mike) Parnin of Jacksonville, FL; a Granddaughter: Kourtney Pompi of Falls Church, VA; and a Brother: Wilton C. Stokes of Callahan, FL.
The family will receive friends Sunday June 22 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6-8 PM,
and request contributions be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 401 S. Third St., Folkston, Georgia 31537. Funeral services will be held Monday June 23 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Folkston with Rev. Randy Jacoby, Rev. Gene McCullough and Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
