Bobby Gene Durham

Bobby Gene Durham, 87, of Hilliard, FL, graduated to glory on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was born in Rockmart, GA, on October 1, 1937, to the late Clarence D. Durham and Amy N. Atcheson. He was a faithful follower of Christ, a loving and devoted husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. He proudly served in the Air Force and the Georgia Air National Guard. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration. In his free time, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf or being on the water. In 1963, Bobby was raised to the degree of Master Mason at Beulah Lodge No. 698 Free & Accepted Masons in Paulding County, Georgia, where he remained a member until his passing. He served Beulah Lodge in multiple offices, presiding as Worshipful Master for the year 1968.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years: Joyce Craton Durham; brother: M.D. Durham; and granddaughter: Michelle Bertholf.

He is survived by his 4 children and their spouses: Vicky & KT Turner, Scott & Jill Durham, Karen & Richard Knight, and Janet & Greg Jones; brothers and their spouses: Fred & Doris Durham and Tom & Dot Durham; 14 grandchildren: Keith Bertholf, Jr., Christy Oliver (Country), Jared Knight (Christie), Chrysta Knight, Kelly Rosenbusch (Erich), Bobby Bertholf (Tiffany), Jacob Jones (Kimberly), Alyssa Hightower (Buddy), Kirstie Boutwell (Everett), Kayla Jones, Ashleigh Moore (Chris), Zachary Knight (Josey), Aimee Hoyle (Jonathan), and Violet Knight; 37 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Hilliard with Rev. Jared Knight, Rev. Greg Jones, and Rev. Kris Elkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
