Billy Holland

Billy Sunday Holland, 87, of Hilliard, FL passed away Wednesday, June 26 in Fernandina Beach, FL.  He was born February 14, 1932 in Dodge County, GA to the late J.E. “Jabbo” Holland and Rosa Mullis Holland.  He entered the US Air Force 1950 and was discharged from active duty in 1954 as a SSGT and from the Air Force Reserves in 1966 as a MSGT.  He was a member of Buford Grove Baptist Church and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Hilliard, FL as a Supervisory Electronic Technician after 37 years of service on August 2, 1987.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Delores Ann Willis Holland; a son:  Gary Holland and two sisters:  Susie Camp and Ruthie Hamrick.

He is survived by his children:  Cindy Harpool (Rick), Robbie Holland (Lorri), Joe Johnson (Laura) and Debbie Pickett (Rick); 5-grandchildren:  Ryan Pickett (Krystle), Brittany Courchene (Josh), Amber Pickett, Tucker Holland and Brittany Smith; great grandchildren:  Selah Pickett, Surie Pickett, Danica Courchene and Dallyn Courchene.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3 at 11:00 AM at Buford Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Harrington and Rev. Steve Wolgamott officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, or Wreaths Across America, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
