Bill Staeger

Hon. William Frederick “Bill” Staeger, 66, of Folkston passed away July 30 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was born in Newark, New Jersey to the late Frederick William Staeger and Anna Agatha Brehme Staeger. Mr. Staeger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He retired from the Charlton County School System and was a member of the American Organist Guild. He proudly served Charlton County as a County Commissioner for 6 years before being elected Mayor of Folkston in 2006.
Visitation will be held Friday August 5 at Shepard Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6 at 11:00 AM in the Charlton County High School Gymnasium. Memorialization will be by cremation.
