Betty Greubel Walker, 80, of Midlothian, VA, passed away February 15, 2019.
She was born to the late Josef and Marga Greubel (Kauper), October 20, 1938, in
Nurnberg, Germany.
She immigrated from Germany to Folkston, GA in 1959 where she resided for 23 years.
She was one of the original members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in
Folkston. She worked with First National Bank in Folkston and subsequently for several
banks in Florida, Georgia, and Virginia.
She is survived by her daughters Maria Stokes (Manuel) Ray and Cindy Walker (Tom)
Arnold; 4 grandchildren Jason (Ansley) Ray, Michael (Alyssa) Ray, Andrew Arnold and
Claire Arnold and 4 great-grandchildren, Madison, Montgomery-Leigh, Henry and
Audrey Ray.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Albert Stokes and Robert Walker.
While in Virginia, Betty was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.
She will be remembered as a woman of faith, a wonderful cook and an accomplished
seamstress. She enjoyed square dancing and apple picking in the Fall while in Virginia.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. at
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Folkston. The rite of Christian Burial will conclude
the service at Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
