Betty Lou Honeycutt, 74, of Folkston, GA passed away peacefully Friday, October 15 at her residence. She was born April 13, 1947 in Alma, GA to the late Steve Morgan Honeycutt, Sr. and Rebecca Ann Sumner Honeycutt. She was currently a member of Philadelphia Free Will Baptist Church. She lived and worked in Jacksonville, FL for over 40 years before her illness worsened. She taught Children’s Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was involved in Home and Foreign Missions. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, decorating cakes, crocheting, traveling, gardening, bible studies and watching TV. Because of her compassionate spirit, she loved people and made friends easily.
She is survived by her brother: Steve Honeycutt, Jr; 2-sisters: Ann Helmick and Becky Beswick; her very best friend: Leola Crews; nieces: Nena (Jerry) Rhoderick, Amy (Will) Goss, Shana Smith, Katy Tyre and Tina Boatright; nephews: Gene (Beth) Helmick, Gary Helmick, Sean (Brenda) Honeycutt, Duane Beswick and Ricky Boatright and her fur baby: Sugar.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23 at 11:00 AM in the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Parnell Aldridge and Rev. Billy Champion officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Pinelawn Memorial in Alma, GA at 3:30.
